Eastern Star Tours is a family-owned company. Cida Barfield, a native of Brazil who has spent most of her life in the United States, founded the company in 1995. She was working for the school system and at first worked only part-time at Eastern Star. At the time, her most important job was raising her three children. That was the main reason she decided to work for herself, to be in control of her own time. With the Atlanta Olympic Games of 1996, she started to get busier working as a translator, and in February of 1996 she left her job in education to pursue her talents full-time. In June of 1999, Neal Barfield, her husband, came to work for the company on a full-time basis. Neal is a native Atlantan who has lived all but three years of his life here. He last worked in the video and music distribution industry for over 12 years. Neal's experience with big corporations, along with Cida's small business experience, created the perfect partnership, where both equally contribute to the success of the company. They share their love, enthusiasm and dedication for the city, the South and the country with their clients. The most important thing for them is to make sure that each customer is completely satisfied with the service received. Personal service, attention to detail, and respect for the clients are their top priorities |
